Gina has worked in care for over 27 years. Monika has taken on various roles in the home, including Senior Carer, and Night Coordinator - the first year she took to learning as much as she could about Dementia. After completing her NVQ 2 and NVQ 3 in 2016/2017, Monika was able to step into a senior care position and also learned how to administer medication. In 2024 Monika was delighted to be offered the opportunity from Belmont Healthcare's Management team to apply for the Assistant Manager position which she accepted with absolute joy.
Monika says herself that she is very passionate about her role, is loyal and committed to the company, and relishes working within the current team at Haslington Lodge. Clare has been in a caring environment since 1984 and I started out as a 'tea girl'. She then worked up to being a carer, was giving out medication at 15 years old and worked nights too. Claire had a short break to have her first 2 children and worked in a different role but soon went back into care as she missed it so much.
Claire was determined to achieve more though, and wanted to make more differences to improve the care that was being delivered in her role at the time. A charity Care Co-ordinator role followed, progressing to Deputy Manager level and when the manager left, Claire took on that role too. In 2005, Claire completed her RMA and has been a Registered Manager for the last 18 years, boasting an incredible 39 years in the care environment.
Claire says of herself " I have fire in my belly for a good work ethic and am very passionate about ensuring that residents are treated as an individual and not just a number. I have dedicated my career to looking after vulnerable people and doing my utmost to put a smile on their faces. I love to hear about someone's life with the ups and downs as it won't be too long and the older generation will be gone forever with their memories of their childhoods, the war and the hard times that they survived. I do this job because I love it, it's not a job, it's a complete vocation. "

There isn’t anything about home care Sam doesn’t know, and with her 20 years of experience working for the NHS and Social Care sector, she is well placed to develop a hands-on approach to home care.
Sam says: “I’ve been in the care industry for nearly 20 years, the role has adapted with me and my family, I’ve been branch manager of a large company managing the operations of thousands of hours of care and the 50 carers to provide it, but my real passion is as a carer providing personal care that provides a positive impact on an individual’s life.”
am’s wish is to leave the corporate world behind and go back to basics with hands-on care as she develops a boutique team of dedicated Belmont at Home carers.
As Sam began her Home Care Manager role in 2022, she said “I’m looking forward to building something incredible and being relatable to my team. I’m already hiring additional members to our ever growing team as more and more customers come on board, the future looks very bright indeed for our Home Care Team.”
We’ve always had a very close family, after losing my grandad unexpectedly in 2012 My nan became very dependent on my mum. In 2017 she was diagnosed with Dementia; her behaviour became very unstable, and we all worked together to look after her. Soon after she was diagnosed with bowel cancer. She became extremely poorly, with my and I caring for her with the help of some carers. The carers were wonderful and always very helpful. My nan deteriorated massively over the last 2 years of her life; the carers made it possible for us to keep nan home with us. We couldn’t have done it without them. Sadly in 2023, we lost my nan.
After years of caring for her, I had a void I felt needed filling so I decided to change jobs and go from doing security at the airport to joining an amazing team at Belmont. As soon as I started, I loved my new job, making friends with the older generation is always a developing experience. They’re full of wisdom and guidance, with so many stories to share. It almost felt rude that I was being paid to meet some of the most wonderful characters alive. After a short period working in this role, I was presented with an opportunity to become a care coordinator, which allows me to help provide enhanced support, streamline communication, personalise care planning, become an advocate for them, and ensure continuity of care for everyone we care for.
I feel very honoured to be part of a prospering company that puts the care and needs of its clients at the front of every decision and is always looking for ways to do more and help more people. I hope to grow and learn as much as I possibly can with Belmont whilst making sure all of the people, we care for are happy and know they’ve got a friend as well as a carer when our team attends each call.
