Madeira Lodge Care Home in New Romney was buzzing with excitement as it hosted a spectacular Carnival Day that drew in over 100 guests and raised an impressive £700.00 for The Care Workers’ Charity.

The event, adorned with 250 colourful balloons, was a celebration of community spirit and joy, made even more special by the glorious weather.

A highlight of the day was the visit from the Mayor of New Romney, CouncillorJohn Rivers, who actively participated in the festivities by selecting the winning numbers for the tombola drum announcing the winning numbers. The Mayor's involvement added a touch of prestige to the event and delighted the attendees.

Open to the local community, the Care Home welcomed guests of all ages who eagerly embraced the day's activities. The Carnival Day featured a BBQ, a DJ playing lively tunes, a bouncy castle for the young and young-at-heart, and the ever-popular tombola.

One of the most entertaining moments was when care home manager Kelly Parker was drenched with a bucket of water, much to the amusement of the crowd. This playful act was all part of the fun and a great way to raise valuable funds for charity.

Kelly Parker, the Care Home Manager, expressed her joy and gratitude, saying, “We were all very happy to welcome our neighbours and members of the community as we opened our doors and embraced everyone joining us in putting their dancing shoes on to enjoy what was a very special day indeed!”

The Carnival Day at Madeira Lodge Care Home was not just a fundraiser but a testament to the power of community and the shared joy of coming together for a good cause.
