As part of an ongoing commitment to enhancing the care of those living with dementia, Madeira Lodge Care Home have appointed a new manager.
Madeira Lodge Care Home is pleased to introduce new Care Home Manager, Karen Way. A registered nurse with a career spanning 44 years, Karen brings to Madeira Lodge a wealth of experience, a deep passion for the elderly, and especially those living with Dementia.
Karen's journey in the healthcare industry has been as inspiring as it has been diverse. She served as a district nurse in Kent for 14 years, tirelessly providing care to patients in their homes. Her experience as a Home Visiting Nurse further reinforced her commitment to patient care, as she visited housebound patients who were unwell, acting as a crucial link between them and their GP.
Her transition into nursing home management over 20 years ago brought a new dimension to her career. Armed with an NVQ 5 in Operational Management and a Diploma in Management, her management style is driven by her commitment to ensuring the highest standards of care for residents.
At the heart of Karen's work is a deep-seated passion for caring for the elderly. Her dedication to those living with Dementia is particularly commendable. As a Dementia friend, she has been instrumental in raising awareness about the condition through her involvement in the Dementia Forum in Hythe. Her advocacy work has had a profound impact on the lives of those affected by this condition and their families.
