People come in to our care for many reasons, read this very open and honest account from a relative of one of our residents who has now passed away.
“My elderly dad lived at Edendale for nearly two years, when circumstances changed and I could no longer look after him at home. During all that time I was always 100% confident that he was receiving the best possible care to meet his needs, both physically and emotionally.
“All the staff were friendly to him, and to me and my family when we visited. We were always greeted with tea or coffee! Dad wasn't a great mixer and didn't want to sit in the lounge with the other residents; staff respected this and willingly served his meals in his room and popped in, more than necessary, for a chat.
“During Covid restrictions, Whatsapp chats were arranged and messages always passed on to him when I rang to let him know, although I couldn't visit him, I hadn't forgotten him. Sadly, my dad passed away last month, completely unrelated to the coronavirus, and I say a big thank you to all the staff that looked after him so well during his time with them. I miss my dad, but also the lovely staff too.”
Theresa Toal, Registered Manager at Edendale Lodge says: “We say thank you for such a lovely review, its great to know first hand that we are supporting the families that put their trust and confidence in us.”
