During these hot summer days of hot temperatures we’re keeping on top of hydration with cooling lollies and fresh fruit.
Even when the sun isn’t out the temperatures and humidity can be high, It’s easy to get dehydrated without knowing it, which is why we make sure we have plenty of hydrating options for people to take advantage of.
Sarah Pennington, Manager at Madeira Lodge Care Home says: “Drinking water is important, but it can also encourage you to visit the toilet more frequently, which, when your mobility isn’t as good as it used to be can present a problem. Our solution is to make sure the food we eat hydrates. The iced lollies were a novel way to create a little bit of summer excitement and also encourage people to stay hydrated too.”
