Dennis, a resident at Madeira Lodge care home, prepares a healthy summer salad dinner for the home’s beloved pet rabbit Betty, her favourite to keep her healthy and fit.
Feeding Betty is one of the most favoured tasks of resident Dennis, and even more poignant during the month of July, which is Good Care month, where extra care and attention is being bestowed onto her.
Sarah Pennington, registered home manager says “Betty is such a loveable character and we all like to take turns in looking after her, even when she is being objectionable!
“The wider benefits of caring for Betty is that of developing a routine and increased mobility, she really encourages our residents and doesn’t make the job easy, especially when she kicks up sawdust in protest of going back in her cage.”
