The Belmont Healthcare minibus powers up as it makes its way between the company’s care homes in Kent and East Sussex to take those that live there on day trips to local attractions they haven’t seen since before the pandemic.
Embracing the opportunity to get out and about, trips to garden centres, local tourist attractions, and even McDonald’s for a much loved favourite, a doughnut and coffee, has been a huge uplift in the planned day to day activities at each care home.
Adam Hutchison, Managing Director at Belmont Healthcare says: “It’s been really important to us to be able to engage with our community and wider areas of where we live. Being able to get out and about is a liberating experience, before the pandemic we spent a lot of time visiting much loved beauty spots, areas that bring back many good memories for residents who visited these places when they were younger. It’s very positive and we couldn’t be happier getting to know the towns we love so much again.”
