Belmont Healthcare Group has celebrated a year of extraordinary milestones in 2024, showcasing its unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care, fostering community connections, and driving innovation across its services. From high-profile visits to ground breaking initiatives, the group has set new standards in residential and dementia care.
Edendale Lodge had a standout year, welcoming married couple Mary and Jim, whose daughter Rita has become a vocal advocate for the home. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) recognised the home’s excellence, awarding it a ‘Good’ rating in all areas. Residents were also treated to a special visit from Paralympian Peter Cusack, fresh from winning silver in the Wheelchair Basketball finals at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Peter’s heartfelt reunion with his grandmother, Janet, brought joy and inspiration to all.
The team at Haslington Lodge strengthened community ties with initiatives such as supporting the Maidstone Day Centre for the homeless and vulnerable. Staff collaborated on preparing food parcels and offering much-needed assistance. The home also benefitted from strengthening community ties further in a cultural visit and tour to their local Sikh temple.
Madeira Lodge welcomed new Manager Kelly Parker with over 20 years of experience in the care sector, her team has had a hugely successful 2024 bringing renewed energy and focus on person-centred care. In addition, the home also hosted a spectacular Carnival Day, drawing over 100guests and raising £700 for The Care Workers’ Charity. The event showcased the vibrant community spirit that defines Madeira Lodge.
Wombwell Hall celebrated the completion of the first phase of its £5.5 million development project, this landmark investment was officially opened by Mayor Cllr Daniel Adewale King and marks the home’s commitment to enhancing dementia care. The home also launched a pioneering work experience programme in partnership with Northfleet School for Girls and Boys, offering students hands-on healthcare training and laying the groundwork for future apprenticeships. Just before Christmas Mark Labbett, famously known as "The Beast" from ITV’s The Chase - accompanied by the cast of Jack and the Beanstalk - brought laughter and excitement to the home.
Belmont @ Home Midlands continued its award-winning streak, earning a Top 20 Homecare.co.uk award for the second consecutive year that recognises the exceptional support and care delivered. The service has also experienced impressive growth, with customer numbers increasing year-on-year and the expansion of its highly skilled team to meet the growing demand for home care services.
Belmont @ Home Midlands also reinforced its commitment to the local community by becoming a corporate sponsor and MagicMaker for Birmingham Children’s and Women’s Hospital. This initiative not only helped raise vital funds but also promoted the hospital’s important work aspart of Belmont’s active involvement in the Midlands business community.
The highlights don’t stop there! Belmont Healthcare’s marketing team was honoured with the Midlands Services Excellence Award for Marketing and Communications Team of the Year, acknowledging their creativity and impact.
The annual Belmont Golf Day, held at Shirley Golf Club, raised £2,500 for the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity, highlighting Belmont’s commitment to supporting local causes.
Kent County Council further spotlighted Belmont Healthcare in a promotional video, showcasing its leadership in integrating technology into residential care homes as a model of best practice.
