Madeira Lodge is looking to recruit a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our caring team. The role encompasses the supervision of Care Assistants, the creation of personalised care plans, carrying out risk assessments, and delivering high-quality care to enable our residents to live as independently as possible. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, empathy, understanding, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing personalised care plans and risk assessments.
- Completing and monitoring medication administration record (MAR) sheets.
- Documenting and monitoring daily care notes.
- Supporting residents to attend appointments and engage in community activities.
- Encouraging and fostering independence among our residents.
- Overseeing medication administration and keeping accurate records.
- Providing nutritional support, including meal preparation.
- Performing household duties to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, oral care, and toileting.
- Assisting with mobility needs using aids like hoists and standing aids as necessary.
- Providing companionship to enhance the emotional well-being of our residents.
- Safeguarding residents and maintaining their overall well-being.
- Effectively communicating with colleagues, management, residents' families, and third-party professionals.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in the health and social care sector or a relevant qualification.
- Ability to lead by example and foster a positive working environment.
- A deep understanding and consideration for the needs and wishes of individuals in our care.
- Passion for supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives.
- Willingness to undergo training and development.
